Congratulations on your new cosmetic tattoo! Proper aftercare is essential to achieving beautiful, long-lasting results. Please follow these instructions carefully for the first two weeks of your healing process.
FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS FOR BEST AND LONGEST LASTING RESULTS
Aftercare Routine — First 2 Weeks
Follow this routine morning and night for 14 days:
One hour after leaving the studio: Take a wet saline wipe and dab it gently on the tattoo for 20 seconds, then discard. Repeat every hour until your first full wash on night one.
Wash your tattoo using the directions above.
Moisturize: Use a clean q-tip to apply a small amount of aftercare balm to the tattooed area.
Keep the area clean: Avoid all skincare products and makeup on or near the tattoo.
Repeat every morning and night for 2 full weeks.
Sun Protection for Your Cosmetic Tattoo
Sun exposure is one of the leading causes of cosmetic tattoo fading. To protect your investment:
While healing: Wear a hat whenever you're outdoors to shield the tattooed area from direct sun.
After 2 weeks: Begin applying SPF sunscreen daily to the area to maintain color longevity.
What to Avoid After Your Cosmetic Tattoo
These restrictions are essential to proper healing and color retention:
Skincare and makeup on the tattoo — avoid for 2 weeks
Retinol — avoid until 6 weeks post touch-up
Sun exposure and sunburn — avoid throughout healing
Pools, saunas, lakes, oceans, and hot tubs — avoid for 2 weeks
Working out — avoid for 10–12 days
Facials and chemical peels — avoid for 4 weeks
Botox — avoid for 3 weeks
Submerging the tattoo directly under water — avoid for 2 weeks
How to Wash Your Cosmetic Tattoo
Always start with clean hands.
The soap provided is Doctor Bronner's Baby Castile Soap.
Apply 1–2 drops of the provided soap onto a clean q-tip or clean fingers.
Gently cleanse the tattoo area in circular motions for 20 seconds.
Pat dry with a clean towel or disposable soft tissue — do not rub.
Once the tattoo is completely dry, apply a thin layer of aftercare balm.
Reapply balm as needed throughout the day.
Pro Tip: When moisturizing, less is more. Create a thin, barely-there layer of balm — never a thick coat.
What to Expect During Healing
Color may change throughout the healing process — this is completely normal.
Flaking is normal. Scabbing is not. If you notice scabbing, increase your aftercare balm application.
Full color results are visible after the healing process is complete. A touch-up appointment may be recommended.
