MY JOURNEY IN THE TATTOO INDUSTRY

I started in the cosmetic tattoo industry in 2016 when I was 19 years old. Before figuring out my path in the permanent makeup space, I knew I was passionate about helping others so when I was in highschool I did running start for nursing and when I graduated, I was a certified nursing assistant.

I loved nursing because it fulfilled my passion to help others feel taken care of, but I found myself feeling drained and I knew after going to college to continue my nursing career that it wasn’t my path. I had always been interested in a Makeup career, as I was the friend to do others makeup for special occasions like prom, so I started to look into the best way to training.

In my search I found Esthetician school and permanent makeup training. I felt like if I was going to be working on skin, I should be educated on skin, so I decided to go to esthetician school while also taking certification courses for makeup artistry and permanent makeup.

I started my trainings in September 2016, taking multiple certification courses for cosmetic tattoos including Microblading, lip blushing, eyeliner, and powder brows. From there I decided I wanted to specialize in brows so I offered Microblading, Combo, and Powder Brows as my main permanent makeup services for my first few years in business.

I started my business in may of 2017 after graduating from Esthetician school and getting certified for makeup and permanent makeup.

I opened up my business right out of school, but I chose my mentors and trainings wisely so I always had someone I trusted to lean on for their expertise.

I practiced for a year before taking my first client because it was so important to me to get it right because someone has trusted me with their beautiful face and I want to be worthy of that trust.

Every year, I made it a point to continue my training taking a new permanent makeup course in person or online every year picking up as many tips and tricks from talented artists all around the world.

In 2019 I started training in Nano brows and to focus on lip blushing so I could add them to my menu. I continued training and building my confidence and in 2022, I started to gradually switch my microblading clients to nano. I also added Lip Blush to my menu. I was never passionate about eyeliner tattoo so I decided to not offer it as a service.
