DO YOU USE BROW TINT THAT USES PPD?
Yes, I typically use products with PPD, but I also carry PPD free stains.
WHAT IS PPD?
PPD tint refers to a hair, eyebrow, or eyelash tint containing p-phenylenediamine (PPD), a chemical compound widely used as a permanent dye and color developer.
When mixed with an oxidizing agent like hydrogen peroxide, PPD penetrates the hair cuticle or cortex and undergoes a chemical reaction to lock in rich, long-lasting, and dark shades.
Why it is used: PPD creates deep, natural-looking dark colors (like black and dark brown) that resist washing out and provide strong coverage.
PPD-Free options: Many modern brands offer PPD-free alternatives (utilizing substitutes like para-toluenediamine sulfate or iron oxides) to reduce the risk of irritation for sensitive skin.
DO YOU OFFER HENNA?
Not anymore. To replace henna, I now offer PPD free tints for clients with more sensitive skin or who have sensitivities to oxidizing agents, as PPD free products don’t use them.
AFTERCARE
Avoid makeup and harsh products on brows for 24 hours
No steam, saunas, or swimming for 24 hours
Avoid brow exfoliation
